Living with Shiraito Falls
KRISUMI CITY Phase 2: Waterfall Suites
Krisumi City is a visionary residential development brought to life by Krisumi Corporation, a joint venture between Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation and India’s Krishna Group. Located in Gurgaon, a thriving suburb of Delhi, this expansive 13-hectare project aims to create a vibrant urban community with approximately 2,770 residential units, complemented by commercial spaces, an office building and other facilities. Designed as a multi-phase endeavor, the development is set to be fully completed by 2030. From Phase 2 onward, STGK is proud to contribute to the project by leading the landscape design.
In Phase 2, plans include the development of a high-rise residential building inspired by the serene beauty of Shiraito Falls, a tranquil waterfall at the foothills of Mount Fuji. The architectural theme will seamlessly extend into the landscape design at the building’s foot, designed to reflect the same sense of calm and natural harmony that defines its inspiration.
Given the region’s extreme summer temperatures, which can reach nearly 50°C, incorporating a pool into the residential amenities is essential. For the main garden, we proposed a landscape centered around an expansive pool, featuring a waterfall inspired by Shiraito Falls. Its organic design, with stepped formations, creates coves and islands that provide a variety of scenic and relaxing experiences. Surrounding the pool, seating areas blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, including a long bench tucked behind the waterfall’s structure and table-and-chair sets inspired by landscape stones. Together, these elements form a harmonious garden where residents can gather, unwind, and enjoy the pool as the centerpiece of the space.
The planting beds on the 1F Podium Rooftop Terrace are designed with the same flowing curves as the pool. This design not only enhances the cohesive aesthetic throughout the landscape, but also ensures that, when seen from the tower’s upper floors, the terrace seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape to appear as an integrated garden.
